Home Maintenance is important in every season. It is a good idea to stay on top of it. Here is my list for spring...
Planting for Spring - Petunias are hearty and add extra color in the garden in the earlier spring months. Mark on your calendar to do the rest of your plantings on Mother’s Day weekend - when it is said to be past any springtime snows.
HVAC - Have your A/C serviced for optimal efficiency throughout the warm weather months. Change your air filter too...Pro-Tip: pick up a 6 pack of filters and change them once per month for the best indoor air quality. Set a monthly reminder on your phone to get it done :)
Windows & Doors - Check the window and door frames for air leaks. Seal any leaks with caulk to keep your home working efficiently.
Sump Pump - Test your sump pump to make sure it is in working condition.
Gutters - Clean and repair your gutters. Remove any leaves and standing water.
Sprinkler System - Schedule your system to be turned on. A good rule of thumb is after Mother’s Day, which is typically in the safety zone from freezing weather. Inspect outdoor sprinkler heads for damage from snow plows or cold weather. Look for leaking valves, and verify the watering schedule on the control panel.
Pressure Wash - patios, decks, driveway / walkways, and outdoor furniture to get ready for outdoor fun.
Yard Maintenance - Rake away any dead leaves, branches and pine needles to help your lawn grow happy and healthy.
Check Outside Faucets - Inspect hose faucets for freeze damage by turning on the water and placing a finger over the opening. If that stops the water flow, the pipe may be damaged. Call a professional to inspect your pipes and determine if they need replacing.
Need referrals of great service providers in Boulder county for any of the above maintenance - contact me, I will be happy to provide.
